About the brand:

Clothes are a custom, not a habit, Etnodim maintains. The Kyiv-based team has been making embroidered shirts and dresses since 2009. Volodymyr Zelenskyy is a fan, wearing an Etnodim shirt for one of his recent video addresses. Etnodim has collections dedicated to the Ukrainian Revolution, to Crimea, and to the Ukrainian philosopher Hryhorii Skovoroda.

About the brand:

Knitlab is a brand making minimalist womenswear. Its main focus is knitwear made using Italian angora and merino wool, linen and viscose. Some of the items are entirely handmade. Garments in each collection make up a capsule wardrobe, and can be combined both within and across collections. All items are designed and produced in Ukraine.

SHYPELYK

About the brand:

Shypelyk is a sustainable outerwear brand based in Lutsk in the west of Ukraine. It offers trench coats, wool coats, rain jackets, quilted jackets, puffers and gilets. Using a sustainable approach, most items are made to order. The brand offers many transformable garments that allow their wearers to adjust the garment’s length, detach or attach collars and sleeves, and otherwise deconstruct and alter them.

KSENIA SCHNAIDER

About the brand:

Ksenia Schnaider makes menswear, womenswear, and accessories using repurposed or recycled materials. The brand’s designers, Ksenia and Anton Schnaiders, focus in particular on reusing vintage denim. Their demi-denims –pants that combine skinny jeans and culottes– have gained an international following.

About the brand:

TG Botanical is an eco-conscious womenswear brand that uses biodegradable fabrics (tencel, linen, silk) and natural, plant-based dyes.

SYNDICATE

About the brand:

«We are shaving the beard off men’s fashion and washing the make-up off women's» is Syndicate’s credo. This Kyiv-based streetwear brand was founded in August 2010 and makes small-scale runs of t-shirts, pants, hats, outerwear, men’s shoes, underwear and women’s swimsuits.

JUL

About the brand:

JUL is a mass-market womenswear brand. It produces two collections a year, as well as seasonal or thematic drops. It also offers a permanent collection of knitwear, including cashmere items. The core of each collection is made up of basic items, making JUL clothes easy to style together and combine, the team says. JUL’s thematic drops have included an autumn-winter collection which featured various depictions of the city of Kyiv and a folk-inspired collaboration with the brand Ukrainian Folks.

KATSURINA

About the brand:

Katsurina makes basic, comfortable clothes for women. In 2015, when Dasha Katsurina launched the brand, blanket-like puffer jackets formed its backbone; later on, she added more basic items and homeware to her collections. Katsurina now makes dresses, shirts, tops, hoodies and sweatshirts, as well as shorts, trousers and suits. The brand prioritizes basic, functional items.

About the brand:

German Apparel is based in Cherkasy and makes clothes for both men and women. This autumn, the brand also launched My Blood, a grunge and underground-inspired unisex collection which incorporated patchwork, raw edges, and stone-washed fabrics.

Santa Brands is a 2000s-inspired Ukrainian partywear brand which embellishes clothes with crystals, sequins and feathers and uses satin, velour, textured and glossy leather, and transparent fabrics in its designs.

About the brand:

The Coat is a womenswear brand founded by Katia Silchenko, a designer, in 2014. Her collections always feature coats, corsets, dresses, and high-waisted skirts and trousers. Silchenko positions her clothes as universal – they can be worn in daily life, on walks or during outings – but does not shy away from playful details, such as feathers, unusual combinations of textures, shapes and colors, ruffles, and prints.

Total White is driven by a minimalist approach and produces, as the name suggests, all-white clothes and wedding capsules. The brand drops four collections a year, as well as several wedding capsule collections.

Why Me is a menswear brand founded in Kharkiv in 2019 offering suits, shirts, trousers, sweatshirts, shorts and t-shirts, as well as outerwear.

Cultnaked is a womenswear brand, most famous for its signature pink skort. “First item we've created was the Dancing on the Table skort made out of fabulous Italian satin, it’s a go-to night out piece suitable for any occasion that involves dancing.” The skirt will never reveal what you don’t want to reveal, thanks to the shorts underneath, and “you're free to do whatever you like”, the team says. Cultnaked also makes dresses and trousers, all with sustainability in mind: every item is made on demand.

J’amemme is a brand best known for its architectural silhouettes and signature pleats. “Born in 2018 out of passion for art and design, our brand redefines couture through a novel approach to color and form,” the team says. “We see our mission as creating something beautiful from something others did not want,” the founders add. J’amemme’s go-to materials include organic linen and recycled polyester.

The Lace

About the brand:

The Lace is a brand of women’s clothing, created in 2016. “Brand name derives from the first models of brand dresses, decorated with lace. In addition, lace is the embodiment of femininity and elegance, and this is the essence of our brand: to emphasize the best in women,” the founders explain. The Lace also makes shoes, hats and scarves.

Hvoya offers handmade women’s shoes –including boots, flats, and sandals– and bags. The majority of items are made from leather, though this summer Hvoya released a collection of shoes using linen, hemp, and cotton.

Kachorovska is a footwear brand founded by designer Alina Kachorovska. About the brand:
